Your Special Olympics Rhode Island car donation will help provide year-round training and athletic competition to over 4,000 athletes.

What types of vehicles are accepted?
We accept running and non-running cars. Your car should have at least two inflated tires and be in a tow accessible location, such as a driveway or on a street. Trucks, motorcycles, boats, planes, snowmobiles, heavy machinery, trailers and RVs are accepted on a case-by-case basis. What paperwork is needed to donate my car?
You’ll need to have a clear title in order to complete your car donation. If you can’t find your title, you’ll have to apply for a duplicate title. How long will it take for my vehicle to be picked up?
After you submit the donation form, a local towing agent will contact you within two to three business days to schedule a pick up time. Be sure to remove all personal belongings from your car. You’ll hand over the signed title to the tow driver at the time of pick up.
How much money will Special Olympics receive from my car donation?
Our trusted agent, Advanced Remarketing Services, returns on average 80% of the gross proceeds from the sale of your car back to Special Olympics, the highest of any vehicle donation program!
Will I receive a tax receipt
Yes! Within 30 days of the sale of your vehicle, you’ll be emailed a tax receipt for your car donation. If your car sold for over $500, you can claim the full selling price when you itemize taxes. If it sold for less than $500, you can claim the fair market value up to $499. Please consult with your tax advisor on the best way to claim your Special Olympics Rhode Island car donation tax deduction.
