Summary: This training session will cover the mission of MATP and what skills are focused on for the athletes who participate. Required for coaches who have athletes participating in the MATP Training Day.

Softball Coaches Training

Summary: This sports skills course will work on teaching the fundamentals of softball. Coaches will learn about position specific skills, pitching, hitting and strategy. Required for coaches with softball teams and recommended for partners.

Aquatics Coaches Training

Summary: This training will cover the techniques of swimming. Coaces will learn about stroke techniques as well as athlete development.

General Orientation

Special Olympics Rhode Island
Summary: This session will touch on the history of Special Olympics, eligibility of athletes, divisioning, sports offered and general Special Olympics information. Also, information about Special Olympics Rhode Island will be presented. Required for new coaches and volunteers.
