Let me win.
But if I cannot win,
Let me be brave
In the attempt.
~ Special Olympics Oath

Capital Campaign

For the first time in our 42 year history, Special Olympics Rhode Island will have a new permanent home. The new Headquarters and Training Center in Smithfield will expand and build upon our mission to enrich the inclusion and health of all Rhode Island’s children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

This fully accessible building will provide a Sports Education and Training Facility for our athletes, coaches, and families. Dedicated meeting facilities will accommodate training for our coaches and volunteers who support our year-round schedule of 23 athletic competitions. A Hall of Fame and reception area will deepen the entire Rhode Island community's understanding of, connection to and appreciation for the Special Olympics’ mission. In addition to appropriate office and meeting spaces, the Center will also meet the growing requirement for storage space with a garage and loading dock.

This capital drive is underway with initial funding from corporations, friends and families. Join our supporters in helping to make this exciting vision a reality for our athletes. Your gift is fully tax deductible and will be put to work immediately on behalf of all athletes.

Your willingness to support our Capital Campaign for a new home will give our athletes the chance to Inspire Greatness and to make their dreams come true. Our new home will give our athletes opportunities to participate in the share of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, coaches, volunteers and the community. Download a pledge form (PDF, 618KB).
